COACH’S COMMENTS
“…Very pleased with our team and how they handled a long road trip. What a great atmosphere for a high school football game. Garrard County was everything we expected. A big, physical, fundamentally sound football team.”
“… We felt overall we played really sound defense but did have a play or two where we blew a coverage or an assignment. We were physical and played with great technique.”
“…At times tonight it felt like we were on fire. Our offensive line played very well and it seemed as they got better as the game went on. We felt like they were particularly impressive with picking up the blitz.
“…Luke Fetherolf’s performance tonight was something special. I imagine five touchdown passes is a school record. Gray Derifield, Kaden Johnson, and Cavin Williams also stood out tonight offensively. We feel like we can be a very explosive offensive football team.”
“… Anyone that was here tonight could see we have to improve our kick coverage. If there is one thing that we are disappointed about after this game, it is coverage in the kicking game. We spent a great deal of time working on that this week and it was disappointing that we gave up a Kickoff return touchdown. We will continue to work to improve our special teams.”
“… Next week against Ashland. We will enjoy this win tonight against Garrard County for 24 hours. These kids work so hard it is important to celebrate the victories. We will turn our focus to Ashland on Sunday. We are excited to open our home schedule next Thursday.”
