Inez, Ky — Lawrence Co. ( 18-4 ) scored six runs in the top of the first inning all with two outs to win a hard fought 7-4 contest over Sheldon Clark ( 11-10 ) Thursday evening at Cardinal Park.
Austin Roe put the Dawgs on the scoreboard with a ringing double into the gap.
For the Cardinals Will Lafferty had 3 hits and 1 RBI, Daylon Stafford tripled and drove in 1 run, Mason Gordon had 1 hit and 2 RBIs.
Parker Jarrell pitched well in his six innings of relief as he allowed zero earned runs.
Lawrence Co. Head Coach Travis Feltner
“… Austin Roe got us going with a big two out double and then we strung together some hits and plated six in the first inning. We always play for the big inning and it was big tonight.”
“… We are still putting too many guys on base via the walk or hit batter and that won’t get it done in the post season.”
“… Sheldon Clark Head Coach Brandon Lafferty is doing a good job with them and they are improving. Parker Jarrell did a good job keeping us off balance but we have to do a better job at the plate.”
