DAWGS DOMINATE IN SHUTOUT VICTORY OVER ESTILL COUNTY

Louisa, Ky. — Lawrence County improved to 7-1 and 3-0 in District play with a 35-0 victory over Estill County Friday on Youth League night at Luke Varney Jr. Memorial Stadium. 

Bulldog QB Luke Fetherolf awaits the snap from center Cameron Vanhoose. 

Luke Fetherolf connected with Kaden Johnson on a screen pass for a 4 yard touchdown and Brayden Queen added the PAT for a 7-0 Bulldog lead. 

Next, Chandler Preece bullied his way into the end zone for a 3 yard touchdown and Queen made it 14-0 with the PAT kick. 

Fetherolf tossed his second touchdown of the night this time to Gray Derifield for 33 yards and Queen tacked on the extra point and it was LC 21-0 late in the first half.

In the third quarter on 4th and 2 Chandler Preece scored his second touchdown of the contest this time from 9 yards out but the PAT was missed and it was 27-0 Bulldogs.

With 3:54 left in the third quarter Fetherolf tossed a screen pass to Andrew Ratcliff and after some good blocking down field from Colton McDowell and Kaden Johnson he weaved his way for a 34 yard touchdown and Chandler Preece added the two point conversion to set the final score of 35-0 Lawrence County. 

The Dawgs will close out District play at home against Magoffin Co. ( 3-6 ) for Senior night next Friday. 

Estill Co. ( 4-4 ) will travel to Powell Co. ( 3-5 ) next Friday night.

Lawrence County 3-0

Letcher Co. Central 2-1 

Powell County 1-2

Estill County 1-2

Magoffin County 0-3

“… Great team win last night. So proud of our team. The work these guys have put in showed up last night in the way that they played. We feel like we are starting to hit our stride.” 

“… We felt like last night was our most complete game to date. Offense, Defense, and Special Teams.  We will enjoy this one for a day then turn our focus to Magoffin County.”
