Louisa, Ky. — In a District 6 matchup it was Lawrence Co. ( 4-3 ) racing out to a 42-0 lead at halftime and the Dawgs put it into cruise control in the second half for a 48-8 victory over Sheldon Clark ( 1-5 ) Friday night at Luke Varney Jr. Memorial stadium.
Noah West had 3 touchdowns on runs of 7, 14 and 32 yards to stake the Bulldogs to a 21-0 lead after one period. Ashton Blankenship had a pair of one yard plunges and Dalton Ferguson added a two yard touchdown before halftime.
In the second half with the clock running the entire time Sheldon Clark Sophomore Braxton Maynard recovered a Bulldog fumble for a touchdown and Senior Brent Burke added the two point conversion.
Bulldog Freshman Baden Gillispie galloped 78 yards to pay dirt for the only score for LC in the second half and set the final score at 48-8.
Lawrence Co. finished with 416 yards all on the ground as Ferguson finished with 183 yards, Gillispie 92 yards, West 83 yards, Blankenship 27 yards, Andrew Tackett 12 yards and Trevor Young 4 yards.
Caleb Fletcher kicked 2 PAT’s, West and Ferguson both had two point conversion runs.
Lawrence Co. Senior Jared Mills had an interception as the defense pitched a shutout on the night.
