Louisa, Ky — Cody Maynard, Tyler Maynard and Baden Gillispie combined for 75 points to lead Lawrence Co. ( 18-9 ) to a 86-81 victory over Prestonsburg ( 7-13 ) to wrap up a perfect 58th District record Monday night at the Dawg House.
The Blackcats started out hot leading 27-20 after one quarter as both teams shot the ball well.
In the second the Dawgs continued splashing the nets with 22 more points to lead 42-41 at the break behind Tyler Maynard who had 18 points.
In the third quarter Lawrence Co. scorched the nets for 25 points and held Prestonsburg to 16 points and led 67-57 going to the fourth as Baden Gillispie nailed 2 three pointers and scored 10 points.
In the fourth Prestonsburg made it close but the Bulldogs closed out the victory and District play with a perfect 6-0 record.
Cody Maynard poured in 28 points, Tyler Maynard 27 points, Baden Gillispie netted 20 points, all three hit 2 three pointers each, Trenton Adkins 5 points, Chase Sartin 4 points and CJ Fairchild 2 points.
Lawrence Co. finished with 6 three pointers and went 10 of 14 from the free throw line.
Prestonsburg placed four in double figures led by Adam Slone with 26 points, Ryan Rose 16 points, Will Gullett and Brandon Burchett 12 points each.
The Blackcats hit 5 three pointers and went 6 of 10 from the free throw line.

The Lady Dawgs traveled to New Boston and picked up a road victory to improve their record to 14-12 on the year.
Lawrence Co. started out on fire with a 27 point first quarter and followed that up with a 20 point second to lead 47-27 at Halftime.
Kensley Feltner led three in double figures with 26 points, Lexi Ratliff nailed 4 three pointers and finished with 20 points, Brooke Neal hit 2 three pointers for 12 points, Kaison Ward 7 points, Ellie Webb hit 2 three pointers for 6 points, Kyleah Ward and Tyra Hammond 2 points each.
The Lady Bulldogs finished with 9 three pointers and went 10 of 15 from the free throw line.
Lexus Oiler had 18 points, Taylor Hickman 12 points, Shelby Easter 10 points for Glenwood ( 12-7 ).
The Lady Tigers hit 5 three pointers and went 18 of 26 from the charity stripe.

“… Proud of our girls for coming out and executing in the first half. We built a big lead but let them speed us up in the second half and didn’t execute as we needed to but we have to learn from those mistakes and get ready for tournament play. This was another good test for us to learn and grow and that’s what we want right now.
“…We have two more home games this week. Senior night with Paintsville on Thursday and Tolsia on Friday night. Two more great opponents to help better prepare us for tournament play.”
