COACH’S COMMENTS
“… This is a huge accomplishment for these young men. They had one goal before season started and that was to win the championship. So we all bought into the plan and told them the sky is the limit we just got to stay focused and hungry and boy did they. We had some injuries in the season which brung us down to 6 players but these boys are just dawgs. There up tempo defense and pressing was hard to handle and not to mention we have some sharp shooters on this team. We went to war day in and day out with 6-7 players all year and theres not another person or team that I would ever want to go to war with. They ain’t no quit in these boys or coaching staff. It was a honor and privilege to coach these boys they made my job easy.”
“…Starting the county tournaments we came in as the #1 seed and we didn’t shoot good all tournament but these young man found ways to win with just some good basketball and pounding it in and driving and getting to the foul line. It wasn’t the flashy Crum with the long 3s. It was the Crum that wasn’t taking no for an answer that found ways to win and battled every second until the buzzer went off. And at the end of the day they become victorious and winning the Wayne County Championship. First time in 17 years. It’s amazing what 7 boys can do when they have a goal and put in 100% effort and heart into every play of every game. I would like to thank my players, coaching staff, Mountaineer Nation because they showed up big time for these boys, the administration, parents and everyone that’s help me and this team this year. It takes a village and boy do we have one.”
