Sheriff Rick Thompson stated that a man was arrested last night after a vehicle pursuit in two states.
The Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit made a traffic stop on a vehicle on US RT 52. The driver refused to put the car in park and then accelerated North on US RT 52. The suspect fled at a high rate of speed to Catlettsburg KY. The Catlettsburg Police Department took over the pursuit and the suspect used his vehicle to hit two Catlettsburg Police vehicles. The suspect, identified as Allen Ray Flemings of Crum, was taken into custody shortly after.
Sheriff Thompson stated that Allen was in Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and also wanted for a Parole Violation. Allen will be charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Felony Fleeing in a vehicle in WV.
Catlettsburg Police Department charged Allen with (2) Counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st degree, (2) Counts of Assault with a Vehicle 1st degree, Fleeing and Evading 1st degree, Receiving Stolen Vehicle, Aggravated DUI, and drug possession.
