LOUISA, KY. –On Tuesday March 21, 2023 The Lawrence County Fiscal Court had a Regular Scheduled Meeting at 10 AM at The Lawrence County Court House, Downtown, 2nd Floor, Louisa, Kentucky. LC Judge Executive Phil Carter was in attendance with LC Magistrates Rick Blackburn, David Pinson, Michael (Mouse) Halcomb and John Scaggs.
LC Judge Phil Carter said, “Lawrence County will soon receive several hundred thousand dollars from a FEMA Grant. FEMA made a Declaration and Report on Feb 16, 2023. These funds are from all the road problems, breaks, gravel run-off and high water floods washing pavement and roads away.”

- In other items on yesterday’s agenda the Jail Budget is due by April 1, 2023 and if approved may have pending amendments at a later date.
- LC Clerk Chris Jobe said, “We stand to receive $80,958.78 pending an audit that will pay for voting equipment.”

Melinda Feltner “KHSAA REGION 15 Coach of the Year” Congratulations to Kensley Feltner on being named the scoring Leader. Feltner played in 30 regular season games, scoring 879 total points for an average of 29.3 points per game.
LCHS Cheerleaders Team won the District title this season.
LCHS Wrestling Team (Youth & Middle School Students) Josh Diamond and Scott Powell Coached the team to State Champions.
LCHS Carpentry received OSHA Temp cards.

- Approved opening a new bank account at First State Bank for Blaine CDBG. LC Deputy Judge Vince Doty said, “There was an account open, but closed due to no activity. An account has to be opened in order to apply for grants.”
- LC Clerk Chris Jobe said, “Kentucky State Legislators passed a House Bill for reimbursement on voting equipment. Lawrence County stands to gain $96,000.”
- “Five Judges have revived East Park in Ashland, Kentucky. East Park has received 13 requests for information from prospective companies interested in locating at the Industrial Park,” LC Judge Exec. Phil Carter said. “Once a business sets up at East Park tax monies will be received and divided between 5 counties which includes Greenup, Carter, Lawrence, Boyd and Elliott. The land from Brady Industries has been given to FIVCO free and clear. There are hundreds of acres and an office building containing 110,000 square feet.”
- Kristen Lemaster, US Army Corp of Engineers, is the Natural Resources Specialist and spoke about the events going on at Yatesville Lake this Spring.
