Hello community partners!
This email is to invite you to a community meeting Monday, August 21 at 12:00 NOON at Lawrence County Extension Office 249 Industrial Park Road, Louisa.
This meeting will serve as both our health coalition, Lawrence County Health Action Team (HAT) meeting and as a follow up of our Community Health Improvement Planning (CHIP) which we began early this year.
If you have been a part of either of these groups or would like to be, please attend. Lunch will be served.
We estimate 2 hours for this meeting but if you can’t stay the entire time please attend what you can. I will also send this out as a calendar hold.
Please RSVP so we can get an accurate count for lunch.
–If you no longer serve Lawrence County or for other reasons would like to be removed from HAT and/or CHIP mailings just let me know. I compiled this list from several other email list servs so you may not be the correct contact for your organization. We were trying not to miss anyone.
The HAT part of the meeting will consist of our usual going around the table for brief introductions and allow everyone to update everyone on their services, resources, events, etc. We will also discuss our next upcoming Community Health Fair that is hosted by HAT and will take place at the community center by the high school on October 17. (SAVE THE DATE! More info coming soon.)
The Community Health Improvement Plan part of this meeting will include sharing our finalized goals and objectives formed from those previous meetings. These goals reflect what we think our community needs and serve as a guide for our efforts over the next 5 years. During our last planning meeting we formed workgroups for each goal as listed below. If you are not listed, feel free to join a workgroup to assist in a goal relevant to you and your organization. To join, just tell me or Debbie Miller, director of Lawrence County Health Department. You can also just earn more about them in our meeting with no obligation to commit. For those that have committed, we still need a person or organization to step up to lead each workgroup. You will not be responsible for doing all the work, but you will be responsible for convening your group to make sure the work is happening. The health department is happy to lead the Obesity group.
