LOUISA, Ky. — Lawrence County restaurants are set to open Monday or Tuesday after three months of closing their dining rooms for customers because of the Coronavirus scare. We decided to visit some of the eating spots and check on when and how they will open.
Stars and Stripes
Stars and Stripes owners Dwayne and Rhonda Endicott stated that they would be opening on Friday May 22, 2020 following the Governor’s guidelines. They were busy Thursday disinfecting everything getting their restaurant ready for opening Friday. They will be taking extra precautions by providing hand sanitation wipes at the doors. They hand wash all the dishes then heat sanitize them with a high tech heat dishwasher. They are a Veteran owned and operated business who support the essential workers and all Vets by giving them discounts. They will open at 11 a m. Friday morning. They are entertaining the option of having their weekly Friday and Saturday evenings Karoke on their outside patio, weather permitting. Customers may also do outside dining at their restaurant if they prefer. They ask everyone to be patient as there may be a waiting period to dine in, due to the 33 % capacity guidelines. They look forward to seeing their customers once again and appreciate all their customers who has supported them during this Pandemic.
McDonalds
Manager on duty at McDonalds stated they they would not be opening their dining eat-in area until a later undetermined date. The drive- thru will remain open from 5 a m.- 11 pm.
Masterpiece Cafe
The Masterpiece Cafe Manager Melissa Fowler, (shown above) stated that they would be opening their inside Dining on Friday also, following all guidelines and safety procedures. They will have patio dining (weather permitting) for customers who prefer to be outdoors. They will still be doing curbside services as well. The inside dining tables will be petitioned away from each other using social distancing measures. They thank all their customers who have supported them during this Pandemic.
Giovanni’s
Giovannis Restaurant Manager Mandy Johnson stated that their dining room won’t be opening Friday due to remodeling of dining room which won’t be finished till mid June. They will still be open and doing takeout orders, following the Governor’s orders.
Toro Loco
Toro Loco’s Restaurant will be opening up their dining room for the public at 11 a.m. Friday May 22, 2020. They will be following the Governors social distancing guidelines with tables 6 ft. apart and sanitizer wipes available for customers, stated Manager Kayla Robinette. Dee’s Dairy Drive Inn
Dee’s Dairy Drive Inn will not be opening their inside Dining area on Friday. They feel that with the 33 % capacity orders and social distancing measures they would prefer to continue doing the carryout and car hop for now. It has been doing great and they really appreciate all of their customers and thank all who have supported them.
Southern Spoon
Southern Spoon Restaurant Manager Ted Kelley stated that they would be opening their dining back up Friday, following the 33% capacity orders and social distancing guidelines. He stated that he appreciated all the customers who supported them during this Coronavirus Pandemic time and looks forward to reopening the dining. The restaurant has the inside fixed for the 6ft.
