FRANKFORT, Ky., October 27, 2016 – Kentucky Power has named Jacob Colley, president and CEO of the Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, as its newest external affairs manager. He will be based in Pikeville beginning Nov. 7.
Colley’s role with Kentucky Power will include legislative, environmental and economic development, among other duties. He brings about eight years of experience that includes strategic plan implementation, government relations, business advocacy, economic development, event and program management, as well as marketing and sales. While at the Southeast Kentucky Chamber, he led a two-year initiative to create a nine county Regional Partnership for Economic Growth as well as built coalitions with strategic partners including private sector businesses, community leaders, higher education organizations, workforce partners, local governments and non-profit organizations.

Colley holds a bachelor’s in marketing management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia. Colley also attended the Institute for Organizational Management at the University of Georgia, the Kentucky Institute of Economic Development at University of Kentucky, and the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership at University of Virginia.
