Clifford “Cliff” Ray Thompson, 92, of Fort Gay, WV passed away on Monday, April 6, 2020 at the JJ Jordan Rehab Center in Louisa, KY.
Cliff was born January 22, 1928 in Fort Gay, WV to the late Freelin and Mary (Crabtree) Thompson. He was a member of the Oak Grove Church, a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Woodmere Cemetery in Huntington, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia Johnson Thompson; sisters Jewel Thompson, Mona Robertson, Macie Webb, Thelda Lambert, Dixie Thompson, Georgia Jarell, Sally Ricky, Evalina Duncan; and one brother Sam Lloyd.
Survivors are sister Betty Jane Kit, several nieces and nephews, stepdaughter Hope Adams; and stepsons Joe and Ishmal Johnson.
The family would like to thank Sheila Bowen for her excellent care of Cliff. He loved her like a daughter and she made the last six years of his life much happier.
Private funeral services will be conducted at the Thompson Family Cemetery on Upper Spruce Branch Road in Fort Gay, WV.
Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Thompson.
