We would like to welcome the newest officer to the Louisa Police Department, Recruit Patrolman Ethan Smith, whom was sworn in at tonight’s city council meeting. A 2023 graduate of Lawrence County High School and former member of the Louisa Police Explorers program. Ptl. Smith has begun introductory field training that will consist of CPR/AED, first aid, NIMS IS-100,IS-200, IS-700, firearms, policy and procedure and 4 weeks of online pre-academy requirements before attending in-person basic law enforcement training at DOCJT.
