Lawrence County Schools

Congratulations to Mr. Joey Cecil, who has been selected as the interim assistant principal at Lawrence County High School.

Mr. Cecil has a wealth of experience, with 16.5 years of teaching math and chemistry. He has served another 14 years in administration, eight years as an assistant principal at LMS, two years as an assistant principal at LCHS, and four years as head principal at Louisa Middle School.

Mr. Cecil’s Quote: “I am excited about the opportunity to serve the students and staff at LCHS.  I am committed to doing what’s right, doing my best, and treating others the way I would like to be treated.    And finally, I am optimistic about the upcoming school year and look forward to developing lifelong relationships in our Dawg Family.”

Mr. Cecil has also coached football for 25 years, with five years as the LCHS head football coach. We are excited that Mr. Cecil is continuing his work in education, providing guidance and motivation to our students at LCHS!
