Louisa, Ky. — The cardiac kids do it again! After trailing by as many as thirteen points, the Lawrence Co. Bulldogs stunned Floyd Central 80-75 to remain unbeaten in 58th District action on Friday.

The Dawgs improved to 13-3 on the season and 3-0 in 58th District play.

Lawrence Co. scored 48 points in the second half to get the comeback victory.

Blake Marcum is all concentration during a free throw attempt in the Dawgs District win.

Blake Marcum went 13 of 16 from the free throw line and finished with 23 points to lead the Bulldogs, Hayden Perry hit 3 three pointers and tallied 17 points, Kaden Johnson added 10 points, Luke Fetherolf hit 3 three pointers for his 9 points, Gunnar Woods netted 8 points, Andrew Bloomfield had 6 points, Ford Scaggs had 4 points and Logan Ratliff chipped in with 3 points.

The Dawgs hit 8 three pointers and went 16 of 24 from the free throw line.

Lawrence Co. will return to action with three road games this week beginning on Tuesday with a trip out Wayne ( WV ) to play a good Pioneer squad, followed by a trip to Pike Co. Central and then at district rival Floyd Central on Friday.

Sophomore Gunnar Woods has been a nice addition to the Bulldogs after transferring from George Rogers Clark in Winchester.

Lawrence Co. Head Coach Chandler Thompson

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… Super proud of our guys for battling and coming out of the game Friday night 3-0 in the district. We found ourselves down 13 at one point, but once again, this team has no quit in them. That is 100% the reason that we are 13-3, their will to win is something special.

“…We are looking forward to another week and another opportunity to play games and get better!”
