Louisa, Ky. — After getting shutout last Friday the Lawrence County Bulldogs look to bounce back with a trip Letcher Co. Central to open up District play.

Cameron Castle was the leading receiver with 3 catches for 37 yards, Carlo Chicko hauled in 3 passes for 23 yards, Andrew Ratcliff 2 catches for 22 yards, Gray Derifield 4 receptions for 10 yards, Colton McDowell 2 for 8 yards, Cavin Williams 1 for 1 yard.

Leading rusher was Fetherolf with 45 yards on 8 carries, Chandler Preece 3 for 13 yards, Cavin Williams 4 for 12 yards, Mitchell Frazier 2 for 4 yards, Gray Derifield 1 rush for 2 yards.

Carlo Chicko was once again outstanding on the defensive side of the ball with 19 tackles, Cameron Castle had 12 tackles, Chandler Preece and Gray Derifield with 9 tackles each, Andrew Ratcliffe and Aiden Patton 5 tackles each, Beau Blair had 4 tackles.

Braxton Davis had an interception and Hayden Thomas was credited with a QB sack.

This is a huge matchup for the Dawgs and should determine the top seed in Class 3A District 8.

The Cougars of Letcher Co. Central comes in with a record of 3-2 and this will be their first ever game in Class 3A District 8 after dropping down a classification this season.

The Cougars rely on the passing game to do a lot of their damage offensively, but don’t discount the run game.

They are led by QB Gunner Holbrook who has thrown for 836 yards and 12 touchdowns with only 2 interceptions. Mason Stephens has caught 13 passes for 316 yards and 3 touchdowns, Jett Outlaw 11 catches for 245 yards and 3 touchdowns, Colton Stidham 14 receptions for 180 yards and 4 touchdowns.

The leading rusher is Garrett Howard with 7 touchdowns and 286 yards, Brett Sturgill 3 touchdowns and 215 yards.

Long trip to Whitesburg for the Bulldogs who look to get back on track after the loss last week.
