Lawrence County places five on Coach’s Association All Region teams
Pikeville, Ky. — When your team goes 29-5 and you make it to Rupp Arena for the first time in school history your team will get rewarded for an unforgettable 2015-2016 season. The Dawgs were well represented on the first ever 15th region coaches association all region team.
The team was announced at a banquet on Sunday afternoon at Pikeville University each member received a plaque and certificate from senator Johnny Ray Turner.
Lawrence Co. had the 15th region player of the year, the 15th region Co coach of the year, they also had three member on the first team, plus one member on the honorable mention so all five starters were mentioned during the banquet.

Lawrence Co. Senior Robert Dalton
He averaged 17.7 ppg and 7.5 rpg
Scored 2018 points and 713 rebounds in is career
Named all tournament team for the 60th district and 15th region team in 2016
2 time all area by the Ashland Daily
Is the all time leading scorer at Lawrence Co. and first player in school history to reach 2,000 points
Helped lead his team to back to back 60th district titles, first ever 15th region title and first trip to Rupp Arena in school history

“… Feels really good to be on the first ever 15th region team plus I’m a senior so this will be the only time for me so it is really special,” It was really tough right after we lost at Rupp Arena we just set in silence and really just thought about what an achievement it was for our team to finish on that floor in that setting at was really something, wish we could have went further but it wasn’t meant to be.” I loved every minute of my basketball career I wouldn’t change a thing.”
