DAWGS FACE FLOYD CENTRAL FOR DISTRICT TITLE TONIGHT AT RANDY KEETON FIELD
Louisa, Ky — Bryce Blevins threw a five inning no hitter and Tyler Maynard hit his 4th Home Run to lead Lawrence Co. ( 31-5 ) to a 10-0 victory over Betsy Layne ( 9-18 ) to open up the 58th District Tournament Saturday at Randy Keeton Field.
Blevins struck out four Bobcats, walked one and only threw 51 pitches in the victory, He also had 1 hit and 1 RBI to help his cause.
Tyler Maynard finished with 2 hits including a double to go along with his Home run and drove in 3 runs, Jackson Feltner had 2 hits, 2 RBIs and scored 2 rubs, Hunter Crum had 2 hits, 2 runs and knocked in 1 run, Jacob Fletcher had 2 hits and 2 runs, Austin Roe and Lucas Maynard both singled, CJ Fairchild and Ethan Whitt scored 1 run apiece.

Lawrence Co. will play for the 58th District Championship tonight at 6:30 at Randy Keeton Field against Floyd Central ( 13-17 ) after the Jaguars beat Prestonsburg 6-3 in the second game Saturday evening.
The Dawgs swept Floyd Central in the regular season 10-5 at Home and 12-5 in the Road.

“… Good to punch our ticket to region tourney. Hats off to Betsy Layne they played a clean game and challenged us. Bryce comes out as he’s done all year and gave us a great chance on the mound, throwing a no hitter.
“…Offensively we shot ourself in the foot a few times on the base paths. We must clean that up going forward.”
