LOUISA, Ky. — Lawrence County Republican voters ousted three term judge/executive Phillip Carter and elected Rick Blackburn in today’s GOP Primary election. The fiscal court will have brand new faces as all of the magistrates were either defeated or didn’t run this time.
Only one has Democrat opposition in November, Dave York is the Democrat Candidate for Magistrate District 4 on the fall ballot. The other three are automatically elected into the positions beginning Jan. 1, 2027.

My husband Dave York is the Democrat Candidate for Magistrate District 4 on the fall ballot.
Thanks, Sherrie. My bad, I was writing up the GOP primary and there were no democrat sample ballot but I will definitely try to present these tidbits better.
“I respect everyone’s right to their own political opinions, but I personally struggle to understand support for the Democratic Party because many of its policies conflict with my Christian beliefs and values. Their support for abortion rights, LGBTQ+ policies, bigger government, higher taxes, weaker border policies, and increased gun control goes against what I believe about faith, personal responsibility, family values, and individual freedoms. From my perspective as a Christian, I believe these positions move the country further away from biblical principles and traditional values that I feel are important to preserve.”
PGF But you turn a blind eye on a President who consistently lies convicted for sexual assault convicted for sleeping with a porn star while his THIRD wife is pregnant then tries to turn it in on a tax deduction. Now he has created a slush fund of $1.8 Billion to hand out to the people who beat up the police officers on January 6 2021… You going have a lot to explain on that vote
First I’m going to point out this is in quotes. So I suspect you copy and pasted this from somewhere. Second off. Just because you have those beliefs doesn’t mean we all do and why should we all have to abide by your beliefs and not all by my beliefs?
Don’t like abortion? Don’t get one
Don’t like LGBTQ relationships? Don’t have one
We are already paying higher taxes than we did before – but the majority of the tax policies that Democrats want tax the rich. Making over $400k a year. And if you make that. Great for you – do your part then.
I don’t know a single Dem that actually wants to take your guns away but they do want better regulations. If you are for the SAVE act – that has harder guidelines for a voter registration than it does for obtaining a gun.
We don’t want open borders. We want DUE PROCESS when deporting people who shouldn’t be here. But honestly. Nobody is illegal on stolen land.
You are very hypocritical. You want smaller government but you also want our government to tell women what to do with their bodies. Also nowhere in the bible does it say abortion or LGBTQ relationships are a sin.
