Need to check back into the 2005-2006 timeframe when there was a huge round up by the sheriff’s office, state police and city police. Then there were the large round ups when Unite was working the county. Then there were several large methamphetamine manufacturing rings taken down between 2011 and 2016. Then just back in 2017 there was a massive investigation and drug ring taken down —
“EPIC BUST!! 19 LAWRENCE COUNTY RESIDENTS INDICTED BY GRAND JURY ON ORGANIZED CRIME & DRUG CHARGES, REVEALING THE SINGLE LARGEST DRUG DEALING ENTERPRISE IN LAWRENCE CO. HISTORY” –http://sh030.global.temp.domains/~toolzzmy/2017/12/09/organized-crime-food-stamp-fraud-charged-by-the-lawrence-county-grand-jury/
Pretty sure there will never be another bust or investigation that big here again.

Don’t believe Brandie Hale and James Mullett had anything to do with nor were found at the same house. So that makes 13 instead of 15. With that being said it is GREAT to see them finally trying to clean up. Should have cleaned that house out a LONG time ago.

    • Brandie Hale says:

No, Jamie and I weren’t there during the bust. Thank you for being someone that caught that and didn’t just assume we were a part of it. Instead of jail, I believe rehab is what’s best. Jamie was about to go in just a couple hours prior to the arrest.

They every one most certainly do deserve to be charged. Nearly every one of them are repeat, repeat, repeat offenders. LC is sick of them. You must be a druggie buddy.

Just by looking at the pics, I’m pretty sure all 15 have ruined their own lives. The cops just cleaned up what is left of the mess. It sounds like you’re just mad for 2 reasons: 1) your supplier got busted
      2) your bestie got busted at the supplier’s house
Maybe you should count yourself lucky you weren’t there that night and you missed the family photo!

What really grinds my gears is when I read all of this 1st offense nonsense when it’s the same people getting busted over and over and over for drugs, yet they always get to plead down and they’re right back at it again.
How about some accountability and start handing down some sentences for a change?
Take away their freedom for a couple of years. If nothing else maybe it will show them that being clean for a change isn’t that bad
      after all.

Well spoken, they suffer from a disease called addiction hopefully they will get help instead of prison.. They are not at fault they are men and women and sons and daughters and mothers and fathers who have been victimized of their own society! You voters should take a deep breath and pray this is not one of your children or brothers and sisters, the disease of addiction is cunning baffling and powerful and autamatetly fatal!!

        • Sandra says:

Don t we have a rehab right in town? If they won’t take the golden opportunity to get clean, then its not our fault and some people are getting tired of being afraid to go to work because they might be robbed!

        • Kata says:

It’s very hard to do the right thing when your an addicted the right thing isn’t very clear. They DO deserve to go to rehab. They DO deserve rehab. Because most dealers are an addict of some kind, whether it be money or drugs or even shopping. A long term recovery center with a drug program and accountability is what they need. In my city it’s a PRIVILEGE to go to drug court. I was one of the lucky ones. But it takes a READY & WILLING person to follow through with it.. sometimes jail is what a person needs to get their mind right.

      • Trish says:

Right, they need prayer and for someone not to give up on them,,
Taking a chemical substance needing to fix a spiritual solution , best thing happen to them was jail, very well could have saved there life

      • Kimberly says:

I agree on the jail time. I think Rehabilitation would be a better option for those that will accept it. But…. You have to want it, not just because you got caught. Yes, I am a Recovering Addict. I am living proof it can be done. #gottahitrockbottom

        • Citizen says:

I respectfully disagree. This isn’t about a 2nd chance or even a 3rd or 4th chance for most of them as they have been in and out of the revolving door of no accountability for far too long.
You’re forgetting about the crimes committed to obtain these drugs.
Someone said about addiction”they didn’t have a choice”.
We always have a choice in life, and some are more difficult than others, but it’s ours to make.
There are folks who are addicted who go thru the vicious cycle of withdraw over and over again when they run out of drugs each month, and they could go out on the street and get what they need that would stop the sickness but they choose not to.
I know someone who has battled addiction for years, spend all their money on drugs, and have lost everything because of their addiction, but even at their worst they never made the choice to go out and steal from someone.
All the rehab in the world won’t help anyone who aren’t willing to help themselves, and that’s where as always, it comes back to choices.

      • Sandy says:

Where do you think they get their money to buy these drugs from? Stealing from local businesses and hard working citizens property! Maybe not all but a couple of them do for sure!

Despite the effort of our law enforcement, these heathens will continue to walk. Most of this bunch are not from here, they reside here for a reason. Lack of punishment from the judicial system will eventually fuel citizens to take the law into their own hands.

Funny because that is exactly how us minorities feel over here in daviess county when mfs who abuse authorities and break our civil rights. To protect their own dirty drug trafficking. Or attempting to burn down people’s houses because they think material items they destroy will keep us Quiet. I started this stand originally for defending our community that’s lived her for damn near all they life, struggle on t he street they threaten with incarceration or LIE ON STATEMENT FORMS TO RIP PEOPLE STANDING UP FOR OUR RIGHTS AND THE PPL TO SCARED ALSO TOO MALNURISHED AND OLD to attempt to fight back against police using abuse of power to set mf up for publicity because ain’t none of them f****** idiots where the f*** to do their job on their own. Sheer ignorance. And trust me whenever I say even the FBI knows. But where the hell are they when we really need protected ESPECIALLY seeing kids stuck in cross fire for defending what OUR FOUNDING father fought so hard for ALL OF OUR freedom. To let rat wNna be out of state druv dealers go to rehab WHEN OUR OWN PEOPLE can’t even be welcome there. Just to put on a fake front for more drugs to blees in these streets. You know what u read. YOU DONY know or have a mf clue what MOST of these poor people begging for help and can’t get it go thru caude they don’t run drugs to give to wanna be preachers or fi kin mayors. So PLEASE. Shut your mouth unlwss you KNOW your facts. Cause I have plenty of viral proof on my tik tok for mine. LIVE.

I know this is an older post, I was scrolling around online and saw it. I see a bunch of comments on here, that come from either ignorant, or self righteous people. Y’all wanna categorize every addict the same, doesn’t work like that. I don’t know any of these people, have never met any of them. What y’all must not be able to realize is anyone can be an addict. I remember many many years ago a cop in Martin county dying of a drug overdose. No kidding. Back in the 90s he was arresting people, harassing people, and behind closed doors, was doing the exact same stuff he was being allowed to take people to jail for A few months ago I read on the mountain citizen Facebook page a man, who him and his family are members of a church, passed out while driving, hit a building, and was caught with drugs, and paraphernalia. The people who went to church with this man got angry because the news decided to post it, saying him and his family were good Christian people, he had a wife and children who could see it. That it was wrong of them to post it. I have never saw that said about any other person, but because this man was known to go to church it was different. Y’all might wanna stop and think a minute. I’m sure there are many people in your every day life using, and you’ve got no idea, I’m sure people you like. They just haven’t been caught. Every addict is not out here stealing, or hurting people. Some are living life, working, the same as everyone else. So for the person who commented something like how do you think they’re getting their money to get the drugs, might wanna rethink that. Every person isn’t the same. Be like categorizing every single sober person the same. Doesn’t work like that. Yeah I’ve met some trashy addicts I couldn’t stand, but I’ve met some pretty trashy sober people as well. Y’all just want a reason to talk shit about people. If getting clean was as easy as walking in rehab and saying I’m here I’m clean, there would not be a drug epidemic. I would say y’all are part of the reason some people don’t get help, they’re afraid of the judgement, of failing and other people finding out. When I was younger, I don’t know who, but I want to say pharmaceutical companies dumped pills on this area by the helicopters full. They knew exactly what they were doing. Some people became addicts as children, not old enough to realize the consequences. If you care enough to get on here and talk shit about people, educating yourself isn’t a bad idea, and educating the children of today, so maybe the drug epidemic might have a chance to be stopped. I can’t speak for the younger generation, I don’t know what they’re going through, but I can for mine, and things I’ve saw people go through personally. I’m sure there’s not to many people gonna care what I think, and I’m sure some will have something bad to say. In my opinion, it’s making people aware, making sure younger people have a trusted adult to talk to. I wish when I was younger I had someone. Let the kids know its ok to say no, it’s ok to mean no. Talk to them about being in situations that they might feel pressured to do something that they don’t wanna do, but do it because they’re afraid to say no. There’s just so much that’s could be done to prevent people from becoming addicts, that in my opinion, isn’t being done. I think one really good idea is when kids get old enough to go out by themselves, make sure they have a phone, have code words they can use if they’re in a situation that they need out of, they can text you, if nothing else you could call their phone, act like something’s happened, and you’ll have to pick them up, do it without getting mad, or questioning them. I don’t have all the answers, not even trying to act like I do. I don’t know, but I do know sitting behind a screen, talking shit about people you more than likely know nothing about, isn’t the answer and just makes you look bad. Remembering every single addict isn’t the same, that every single addict isn’t what you’re seeing in the news everyday, is a good place to start. Could be your friend, your neighbor, your coworker, a member of the church you attend (in my younger years, I’ve watched a preacher become an addict) it’s sad. It’s sad to see, especially for the people and their families.

All these people need addiction treatment. No one wakes up one day planning to be an addict. Addiction does not discriminate; it is all around and in the homes of the upper, middle & lower class. Recovery is possible!
