PAINTSVILLE, Ky. — The Big Sandy Regional Detention Center Jail Authority Board met earlier this week in response to a request from the administrator concerning how to proceed with a plan of action to remedy structural deficiencies that have come to light at the jail.
The board voted to authorize the administrator to pursue direction from the State Building Inspector, the Big Sandy Area Development District and Chrisman Miller Woodford, Inc.
The structural problem was discovered when a plumbing repair beneath the concrete slab floor revealed a void of 13-14 inches in between the foundation and the slab. Repairs have since been made to the plumbing issues.
Further information will be provided at the next regularly scheduled meeting (Tuesday, February 28th, 2017, 6:30pm) at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, 904 3rd St. Paintsville, Ky. 41240.
