January 10, 1933 – January 13, 2025

Betty Ann Damron Porter, 93, of Fort Gay, WV went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 13, 2025 at her home.

Betty was born January 10, 1933 on Mill Creek to the late Mose and Pearl (Thompson) Damron. Betty was a faithful member of the Fort Gay Church of God. She was saved at 8 years old and lived her life for the Lord. Betty worked for Owens Illinois for 10 years and then became a secretary for Porter & Porter Lumber until she retired.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Porter and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are her daughter and son in law Wanda Joyce and Kevin Ramey; granddaughter Cassie Ann Ramey; sister Deloris Wrubel; special niece Tonna (Terry) Vanderpool; and a host of family and friends. The family would like to thank her special caregiver Amy Slone Thompson and Hospice of Huntington for the care and love shown to Betty and her family.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 16, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Friday, January 16, 2025 from 12:00 PM until time of service in the Young Funeral Home Chapel.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Porter and her family.
