Bennie Bowen, II, 87, of Louisa, KY went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 14, 2024 at his home. Bennie was born January 23, 1937 in Lawrence County, KY to the late Liss and Miranda (Burke) Bowen.

Bennie was a devout Christian and attended New Fellowship United Methodist Church. He was retired from the railroad, which he loved. Bennie loved to work and only missed one day in his career on the railroad. He still enjoyed listening to the trains run every day. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Belle Bowen; children Bennie Bowen III, Paul Bowen, Jeff Bowen, and Renee Bowen; 2 grandchildren; and siblings Doug “Mack” Bowen, Elizabeth Accord, and Dolly Copley Crum.

Survivors include his wife Gloria Hammond Bowen; children Paul (Renea) Bowen, Rhonda Robinson, and Loretta Parsons; daughter in law Norma Bowen; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Bowen-Salem Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Bowen and his family.
