Baseball Dawgs Finish Spring Break Trip 2-2; Play Johnson Central In The Class 2A Section 8 Tournament Tuesday

Franklin, Ky. — Lawrence County Baseball went 1-3 on their Western Kentucky Spring Break Trip this week.

On Thursday the Dawgs closed out the Spring Break trip with another nail-biting game. The last five contest have been decided by two runs or less.

Grant Cochran pitched well in his six innings of work, allowed eight hits, three runs, struck out three and walked one. 

At the plate Dawgs only mustered four singles, Owen Pack had one hit and scored the lone run, Gray Derifield, Maddox Fletcher and Max Murriell also had one hit. 

Bowling Green 5 Lawrence Co. 4 

On Wednesday the Dawgs suffered another one run defeat this time against undefeated Bowling Green after the Purples scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh on a couple questionable calls that went against the Bulldogs. 

Braxton Davis pitched great in his six and two third innings of work. Davis allowed four runs, five hits, struck out one and walked two. 

Offensively Gray Derifield had three hits including a double, one RBI and scored two runs, Boedy Maynard doubled and drove in a run, Davis singled and drove in one run, Eli Caudill singled and scored a run, Owen Pack and Brady Caudill both singled, Max Murriell scored a run. 

The Dawgs ( 5-6 ) will return to action on Tuesday at 5:30 versus Johnson Central ( 7-4 ) in the Class 2A Section 8 Tournament at the Stonecrest SportsPark.
