COACH’S COMMENTS
“… We played great defense and had good pitching. Austin ( Bailey ) was throwing the ball better than he had all year. Prior to the game we made an adjustment to his pitching mechanics that we noticed was not allowing him to use his lower half. He made the adjustment and even the home plate umpire said his velocity was much better. That, with timely hitting made it a good day for us. We only struck out twice in the first game.”
“… We executed better in situations than we have in awhile tonight. With the schedule we have played it’s been tough because we have to be perfect to compete and there is not much room for error. But hopefully we can keep the momentum going forward.”
