Back to Business: Louisa Rotary Club
As the world slowly begins to get back to normal, Louisa’s Rotary Club has reconvened to put the fun back in Louisa. The dedicated Rotarians had their, once a month, business meeting on the afternoon of Thursday, May 13 to discuss upcoming events. The meeting was held at Louisa First Baptist with 20 individuals in attendance. The club members would like to thank Louisa’s KFC for catering the meeting.
Louisa Mayor, Harold Slone was in attendance as he spoke about the return of the Lawrence County Septemberfest. The Mayor spoke of local and commercial vendors that are already set to come to the festival, while ideas were thrown around the room about entertainment.
An undisclosed entertainer is already set to perform on the Friday of the fest, as they will be the “first ever” gospel concert. Mayor Slone spoke about the “really good group,” for just a brief moment as he informed the club members that the group is known for bluegrass and gospel music.
The annual golf scramble held in spring, was previously canceled, but members are now talking about possibly holding it in the Fall, as long as the state continues to allow events to open up.
In the meantime, citizens can look forward to the Rotary Club’s auction, which will be held on the 2nd and 3rd of August, 2021.
Individuals who are interested in joining the Louisa Rotary Club can attend their meetings, every Thursday at noon, in the Louisa First Baptist Church.
