Aspire! Conservatory Expanding to a Second Location
Exciting things are coming for Aspire! Conservatory in 2021! After receiving requests to expand into the Louisa area for nearly two years, Aspire! Conservatory is announcing that it will be opening its second location in Louisa, KY this coming July. DeNeil Hartley, Administrative Director of the program said “This seems like a dream come true! Everything suddenly aligned and the timing was exactly right. I am thrilled to be able to serve Louisa and its surrounding area.” Aspire! Conservatory – Louisa will offer private music and art lessons, and group classes in piano, art, and theatre. Aspire! will also be introducing their new “Aspiring Young Musicians” program of music readiness for ages 3-5.
Aspire! recently partnered with Louisa United Methodist Church who will host the program. Robin Adkins, member of the LUMC Administrative Board, along with Scott Smith, Band Director at Lawrence County and Pianist at LUMC, played key roles in presenting the idea of hosting Aspire! at the church. Annie Johnson, who is currently an Aspire! Assistant Administrator, will be the new Site Administrator for the Louisa program. Johnson, who previously taught band and music in the public schools, is a native of Lawrence County, KY and grew up attending LUMC.
LUMC Pastor Dan Smith, who played trumpet in his high school and college bands, is especially excited about hosting Aspire! Conservatory. Smith, who was an avid band booster/band dad for many years, said that he proposed an arts program at another church he pastored earlier in his career. Smith said “Speaking from my heart, I think we’re all going to get blessed: the students, whatever church they might go to, and the school programs. Aspire! is a good program all around.” He hopes that these students may grow up playing in a church praise band or teaching others.
Aspire! will jumpstart the Louisa program with summer camps for piano, art, and music the week of July 19-23. Camp registrations will be available on the Aspire! website May 1st. Aspire! – Louisa will officially open for its first Fall Semester classes on August 23rd. Registrations for Fall Semester classes/lessons will begin mid-June.
Aspire! Conservatory has been a leading program in fine arts education and activities in the Tri-State area since 2015. By hiring only professionals as instructors, Aspire! has earned a strong reputation for providing high quality education, and gained a large following of supporters in the community. Aspire! Conservatory – Ashland currently serves nearly 270 students each week and is hosted by First Baptist Church.
