ARC Introduces Culinary Arts Program in Inez

The beloved Shufflin’ Cafe is getting a new name, Masterpiece Kitchen and Cafe, and will remain open to the public at the same location. The community staple is also transforming into a hub of opportunity for women at White Oak Hill. Previously known as Miss Ida’s Tea Room, the restaurant opened its doors in 1998 — offering not only delightful home-cooked meals but also a warm and inviting atmosphere that has stood the test of time. Now, it will be providing those same services with new opportunities for clients at one of Addiction Recovery Care (ARC) best facilities serving women.

Earlier this month, ARC assumed operations of the cafe. ARC will continue the cafe’s long-standing tradition of providing the community with a first-class restaurant and will add its culinary arts program at the location.

“We’re fostering hope, healing, and community — right here in Inez,” said Tim Robinson, ARC’s founder and CEO. “Through the power of food and education, we aim to provide not only a culinary experience but a pathway to a brighter future for those on the journey to recovery.”

As women progress on their recovery journey, they will be given the chance to intern at Masterpiece Kitchen and Cafe through ARC’s culinary arts program. During the program, women from White Oak Hill will learn cooking and hospitality skills and have the opportunity to earn a certificate.

“This little eatery will continue to offer good food served with warm, welcoming hospitality in a comfortable environment for fellowship,” Linda Booth, current owner.

“We are so excited to see Tim bringing Masterpiece Kitchen to Inez,” added Martin County Judge-Exeuctive Lon Lafferty. “Not only will this restaurant continue the legacy of Miss Ida, but it will also be a place for students to learn culinary arts right here in Inez! Welcome home, Tim!”

As Masterpiece Kitchen takes the reins, Robinson said he is excited to continue the establishment’s cherished traditions that have made it a cornerstone of Inez — while advancing the mission to transform lives in the community.
