ARC Give Back Program provides a donation of $800 to the Louisa Police Department for safety equipment.
The police department used the money to purchase pro-pointer metal detectors which will assist officers in searching purses, duffle bag, or the person themselves in a safer manner to prevent officers from get stuck with needles or other dangerous objects.
Applications for the ARC Give Back Program are accepted monthly, and organizations can apply each month from the 1st to the 14th for assistance (up to $1,000). Applications are reviewed by the ARC Advisory Council starting on the 15th of each month, with decisions made by end of month. Organizations not selected are always invited and encouraged to re-apply the following month.
Eligible applicants can be local teachers, sports teams, schools, organizations (non-profits), police departments, fire departments, churches, animal rescues, food pantries and shelters.
“The ARC Gives Back Program was created to give back to the community in an intentional way,” states Brandi Murriell, ARC Manager of Outreach Relations. “ARC has been supported by so many in the communities we serve. It is our way of saying “Thank You” to Lawrence County”.
Previous recipients of this mini grant program have been Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, Fallsburg Elementary Music Program and Fallsburg Elementary Special Education Program.
The Local Advisory Council consists of Healthcare Employees, Local Law Enforcement, and individuals who live and work in Lawrence County. These members vote monthly to award this gift to someone within Lawrence County.

They need this equipment to use on the people they bring in here from everywhere else. We are getting tired of your taking over Louisa. You will fail at some point.
You hit the nail on the head.
Arc spends millions in Lawrence Co. The feds are footing the bill. If not Lawrence Co. it would be elsewhere. True our tax dollars. Let’s spend it here.
Spend it somewhere else. I want the Louisa back I grew up in.
It sure was a nice little town back in the day wasn’t it John.
