I knew that we were going to have a good showing at Septemberfest yesterday. I knew that we were all going to wear matching shirts. I even helped to organize these things.
Let me tell you what I was not prepared for…
I was not prepared for all the emotions I would feel going down the parade route.
I wasn’t prepared for people in the crowd to see their family members that are in treatment and run up to them and hug them and tell them they’re proud of them.
I wasn’t prepared for people in the crowd to yell out “RECOVERY ROCKS!” or “MY DAUGHTER HAS BEEN CLEAN 12 YEARS” or “WE’RE SO PROUD OF ALL OF YOU!”
I wasn’t prepared to look up during our prayer and see this sea of lives that are being restored and redeemed proudly declaring that “addiction is losing.”
I wasn’t prepared for the visual of SO MANY HUMANS walking in unity.
I am so blessed that this is my life!
I can say I’m 55 years old and 55 years sober and drug free. Beat that!!!!
You sir are a sorry person guess everybody can’t be perfect like yourself
I’m a VERY HAPPY person. I’ve been that way my WHOLE life. Although I am far from perfect you are also.
As long as your happy with your life sir that’s all that matters God bless
I am
I am.
I guess if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say it at all.
Show me the perfect person I would love to meet them. We all put our pants one we leg at a time.
It will surprise you the people that is on drugs, people you would have never thought. You honestly never know about people. But none of us is perfect. We all have flaws, I don’t care who you’re.
It’s sad that a drug free person can’t even get a job in Louisa. What happened? Enough said…
Were you ever on drugs??
Never sir. I don’t believe in them. My addiction is my children.
