Fort Gay, W. Va. — After brief cancellation the annual Mountain Heritage Day festivities went off without a hitch on Saturday.

The event had to be moved from the usual spot on the old Fort Gay high school lawn to behind Community Trust Bank and the Youth league Gymnasium but it didn’t seem to bother the crowd one bit.

The Mountain Heritage Day festival has been a tradition in the town of Fort Gay since 1972.

The parade was also one of the best in recent memory and the weather was absolutely beautiful.
