Louisa, Ky — Lawrence Co. Sophomore goal keeper Trenton Adkins made a great save with 3 minutes left in the match to preserve the Bulldogs 3-2 come from behind victory over 15th Region rival Johnson Central Monday night at the LCHS Soccer Complex.
The SoccerDawgs improved to 4-1 on the year and the Golden Eagles dropped to 0-2-1.
Johnson Central got on the board first before the Dawgs tied it at 1 on a goal from Tyler Maynard with the assist to SJ Lycans to set the halftime score.
Maynard scored 2 goals in the second half to finish with the hat trick. Briyce Brooks assisted on the last two. Johnson Central made it 3-2 before Adkins stopped the potential game tying goal late in the contest.
Lawrence Co. Boys will return to action Thursday night at Home vs Russell.

“… It was a tight one. JC got the better of the first half and we were lucky to get to half with it tied. We challenged the boys to win the ball out of the air in the second half and they responded. I feel like we out possessed and out worked JC in the second half. Trenton Adkins came up with a huge Penalty Kick save to keep the lead. Our defense played a great game for us and denied Johnson Central time and time again. It was a great match up.”
