ASHLAND, Ky. – Ashland Community and Technical College (ACTC) hosted their annual fall Transfer Program Fair on the College Drive Campus from Sept. 22-25.
The four-day long event gives students the chance to connect with university representatives to learn about their colleges and explore opportunities to further their education beyond their time at ACTC.
The theme for the fair this fall was “Become a Superhero.”
“Our transfer program fair this fall was a success,” said Megan Horne, ACTC director of program facilitation, student support services/TRIO and transfer initiatives. “ACTC students had the opportunity to learn about general admissions information and transfer-specific scholarship opportunities for twenty-three colleges and universities. It’s a great chance for students to broaden their horizons and plan for the future.”
Participating students had many great options to consider thanks to the college and university partners that attended. Throughout the week, several colleges hosted presentations on their program offerings that students could attend in person or remotely.
Topics covered in the college’s presentations included academic pathways leading to careers in education, healthcare, law enforcement, social work, space science, cybersecurity, and many others.
Colleges/universities in attendance included:
Alice Lloyd College, Asbury University, Bellevue University, Berea College, Campbellsville University, Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, Franklin University, Lindsey Wilson University, Marshall University, Mid-America College of Funeral Service, Morehead State University, Morehead State – Education, Morehead State – Social Work, Northern Kentucky University, Ohio University, Shawnee State University, Sullivan University, University of Cincinnati, University of Kentucky, University of Louisville, University of the Cumberlands, and Western Kentucky University.
The Northeast Kentucky Area Health Education Center was also present to provide information about exciting upcoming events and valuable funding opportunities.
The spring Transfer Program Fair will be held in late March, with the theme of “Become an Explorer.”
“We are excited to continue connecting students to even more institutions providing valuable educational pathways that will lead to important, fulfilling careers,” said Horne.
