A Martin County Grand Jury returns indictments on March 7, 2024.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Austin Jackson
The Commonwealth Attorney charges: that on or before the 21st day of December, 2023, in Martin County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Austin T. Jackson committed the offense of Bail Jumping in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully having been released from custody by the court, with or without bail, upon condition that he will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with a felony charge (Martin Circuit Court, 21-CR-00041), he failed to appear at that time and place as ordered by the court, namely a Bond Revocation Hearing.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Austin Jackson
The Commonwealth Attorney charges: that on or before the 21st day of December, 2023, in Martin County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Austin T. Jackson committed the offense of Bail Jumping in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully having been released from custody by the court, with or without bail, upon condition that he will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with a felony charge (Martin Circuit Court, 21-CR-00040), he failed to appear at that time and place as ordered by the court, namely a Bond Revocation Hearing.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Martin Gillespie
The Commonwealth Attorney charges: that on or before January 10th, 2024, in Martin County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Martin Gillespie committed the offense of Feeling/Evading Police in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully disregarding signals and commands to stop given by Sheriff John Kirk with the Martin County Sheriff’s Department while acting within the official capacity of his office and had reasonable suspicion that the defendant had committed a crime, namely the intent to flee, avoid or elude his arrest.
2. That the defendant, having been charged in the instant indictment with the above stated felony count (s), is now being charged as a Persistent Felony Offender, in the 1st Degree.
3. The above-named defendant committed the offense of Wanton Endangerment in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully engaging in conduct which creates substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to another person, namely Sheriff John Kirk with the Martin County Sheriff’s Department.
4. The above-named defendant committed the violation of No Registration Plates by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle upon a Kentucky roadway without proper registration plates as defined in KRS: 186.170.
5. The above-named defendant committed the violation of No/Expired Registration Plates by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle upon a Kentucky roadway without proper registration plates as defined in KRS: 186.170.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Dennis Allen Maynard
The Commonwealth Attorney charges: that on or before September 5th, 2023, in Martin County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Dennis Allen Maynard acting alone or in complicity with Jeremy Jarvis committed the offense of Burglary in the 3rd Degree by knowingly and unlawfully entering a garage owned by Kaitlyn Ward located in the Pilgrim community of Martin County, Kentucky with the intent therein to commit the crime of theft.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Jeremy Jarvis
The Commonwealth Attorney charges: that on or before September 5th, 2023, in Martin County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Jeremy Jarvis acting alone or in complicity with Dennis Allen Maynard committed the offense of Burglary in the 3rd Degree by knowingly and unlawfully entering a garage owned by Kaitlyn Ward located in the Pilgrim community of Martin County, Kentucky with the intent therein to commit the crime of theft.
2. Jeremy Jarvis, having been charged in the instant indictment with the above stated felony count (s), is now being charged as a Persistent Felony Offender, in the 2nd Degree.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Dennis Allen Maynard
The Commonwealth Attorney charges: that on or before September 16th, 2023, in Martin County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Dennis Allen Maynard committed the offense of Assault in the 2nd Degree by intentionally assaulting Mr. David Grace, of Lovely, KY, causing physical injury to Mr. Grace by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument.
2. The above named defendant committed the offense of Criminal Trespass in the 2nd Degree by knowingly and unlawfully entering and remained upon Mr. David Grace’s property located in the Lovely Community of Martin County, KY.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Jeremy Jarvis
The Commonwealth Attorney charges: that on or before November 20th, 2023, in Martin County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Jeremy Jarvis, committed the offense of Burglary in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully entering the dwelling house of Scott and Diana Siegel of Lovely, KY with the intent to commit a crime therein, namely theft, while in the dwelling house or in the immediate flight therefrom was armed with a deadly weapon.
2. Jeremy Jarvis, having been charged in the instant indictment with the above stated felony count (s), is now being charged as a Persistent Felony Offender, in the 2nd Degree.
3. The above named defendant committed the offense of Theft of Stolen Credit/Debit Cards by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of two (2) or more credit or debit cards belonging to Scott Siegel and Dianna Kay Triplett (Siegel).
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Zachary Delong
The Commonwealth Attorney charges: that on or before January 18, 2024 in Martin County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Zachary Delong committed the offense of Bail Jumping in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully having been released from custody by the court, with or without bail, upon condition that he will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with a felony charge (Martin Circuit Court, 23-CR-00056), he failed to appear at that time and place as ordered by the court, namely a Sentencing Hearing.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Ersel Crum
The Commonwealth Attorney charges: that on or before November 2nd, 2023 in Martin County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Ersel Crum committed the offense of Bail Jumping in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully having been released from custody by the court, with or without bail, upon condition that he will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with a felony charge (Martin Circuit Court, 23-CR-00079), he failed to appear at that time and place as ordered by the court, namely a Pretrial Conference.
Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Ronda Salmons
The Commonwealth Attorney charges: that on or before December 9th, 2023, in Martin County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:
1. Ronda Salmons committed the offense of Wanton Endangerment in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully engaging in conduct which created a substantial danger to another, namely Kenny Crum.
2. The above-named defendant committed the offense of Assault in the 3rd Degree by knowingly and unlawfully physically assaulting or attempting to assault Deputy Chris Sesco with the Martin County Sheriff’s Department while acting in the capacity of his office.
3. The above-named defendant committed the offense of Assault in the 3rd Degree by knowingly and unlawfully physically assaulting or attempting to assault Martin County Constable Brad Preece while acting in the capacity of his office.
4. The above-named defendant committed the offense of Assault in the 4th Degree by knowingly and unlawfully physically assaulting Kenny Crum.
5. The above-named defendant committed the offense of Menacing by knowingly and unlawfully placing Kenny Crum, Deputy Chris Sesco and Martin County Constable Brad Preece, in reasonable apprehension of imminent physical injury.
