Langley, Ky. — Lawrence Co. ( 24-6 ) cruised to a 91-61 victory over Prestonsburg ( 5-23 ) Tuesday in the opening round of the 58th District tournament at Floyd Central.
Cody Maynard led the Dawgs in scoring in the Dawgs Post-Season opener.
The Bulldogs were led by Cody Maynard with 21 points, Andrew Bloomfield netted 18 points, Kaden Gillispie tallied 16 points, Will Lafferty added 10 points, Hayden Perry 8 points, Trenton Adkins 6 points, Logan Ratliff 5 points, Dawson Bellomy 4 points and Ethan Horn 3 points.
Kaden Gillispie finished with 16 as the Dawgs cruise into the District final.
Lawrence Co. hit 11 three pointers from 7 different players and went 16 of 21 from the charity stripe.
The Blackcats were led by Jacob Slone with 20 points, Brian Halbert 9 points, Caleb Lawson with 8 points, Grant Varney and Conner Napier with 6 points each, Kaden Allen and Ethan Jarvis with 4 points each, Wes Salisbury and Kasey Meade with 2 points each.
Prestonsburg hit 7 three pointers and went 6 for 10 from the foul line.

The Dawgs will play for a District title on Friday at 7:00 versus the winner of #2 Betsy Layne and #3 Floyd Central who play tonight at 7:30 after Lawrence Co. and Prestonsburg Girls both games at Floyd Central.
