COACH’S COMMENTS
“… If we can bottle that fourth quarter up and play like that the rest of the year we will be fine. I do feel like we are making progress even though we haven’t won yet. I’m not sure anyone has played a tougher schedule anywhere than us. Defending class A champ Man, Triple A Wayne who hasn’t lost, Class 4A Spring Valley, Calvary Baptist who is always a top team in their division, Defending Class 2A state champion Williamstown and semifinalist in the state last year Tug Valley. I told the boys Belfry started the year 0-5 and won the football state championship and their schedule prepared them for that and our schedule will prepare us for postseason as well.”
“… We will get back to work on Wednesday and get ready for two section opponents after Christmas when we host Van and travel to Sherman. I’m really proud of our boys for not quitting tonight and making Tug Valley play to the very end. I probably shouldn’t have gotten the technical but I was standing up for our boys and I will do that every time.”
