August 25, 1934 — April 13th, 2025

Ralph C. Michael, a loving father and devoted member of the Fort Gay community, passed away on April 13th, 2025, at the age of 90.

Born on August 25, 1934, in Fort Gay, WV, Ralph lived a life filled with passion, dedication, and a deep love for his hometown. He was also a former resident of Florida Holiness Campground in Lakeland, FL

Ralph was a hardworking and dedicated individual. He retired from Owens-Illinois. Aside from his work, Ralph had a profound love for golfing. He spent many sunny afternoons on the golf course, perfecting his swing and sharing his love for the game with others. Ralph was also a member of the Fort Gay Baptist Church, Vinson Masonic Lodge #66, and Gideons International. For his dedication and sportsmanship, Ralph was honored as a member of the Fort Gay High School Sports Hall of Fame.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents William and Blanche (Frazier) Michael; his beloved wife, Margaret (Wellman) Michael; infant son Johnny Randall Michael; and brothers Joe Michael and Robert Michael. He is survived by his daughter Kimberly Michael; son Ralph C. Michael, II; grandchildren Brad (Ashley) Michael and Chris Michael; great grandchildren Harper Michael and Livvy Michael; and the mother of his grandchildren Cheryl Andrews Michael.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 18th, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 19th, 2025, at 2:30 PM at the Fort Gay Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Preston officiating. Burial will follow in the Ferguson Cemetery.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Michael and his family.
