PIKEVILLE, KY – KYTC District 12 announced that bridge repairs are beginning today, April 7, on the US 23 bridge at mile point 11.28 near the junction of KY 1559 (Toms Creek) and WR Castle Elementary School in Johnson County. The repairs will require closure of the northbound slow lane during normal working hours, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. While most of the repair work will take place underneath the bridge, motorists should be aware that equipment and crews will periodically be active on the bridge deck as well. The lane closure will be removed at the end of each workday to minimize impact on evening traffic.

Motorists are urged to use caution in the area, obey all posted signage, and reduce speed while traveling through the work zone to ensure the safety of both workers and the traveling public.

District 12 appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as crews complete these necessary repairs to maintain the safety and integrity of our infrastructures.
