May 24, 2021 – Louisa Police Department will be participating in Kentucky’s “Click it or Ticket” campaign starting today May 24th through June 6th. The department will be having several checkpoints at various times at predesignated locations throughout the city.
I have no problem with law enforcement enforcing laws that are on the books. I do have a major problem with how the seatbelt law got on the books! In the 90’s the question was put on the general election ballot; do you the citizens of KY want a mandatory seat belt law? It was voted down by a 2 to 1 margin! 2/3 of KY voters said NO! The very next year, the state house then senate passed a bill that was signed into law by Paul Patton (I think); it created a statewide seat belt law? In other words, we will let people vote on it and if they don’t vote the way we want we’ll do it anyway! I have a huge problem with that. Of course the dimtards were in full power then, and that’s their way.
