Louisa Rotary has weekly meeting virtually with guest speaker Dr. Morgan Lester, DPT
The Louisa Rotary Club held their weekly meeting on Thursday, August 13, via Zoom. The meeting was started off with prayer, The Pledge of Allegiance, reciting the four-way test, and acknowledging birthdays and anniversaries.
Guest speaker was Dr. Morgan Lester, DPT. Morgan earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Kentucky in 2016 after completing her undergraduate work at Morehead State University.
Dr. Lester is a native Lawrence County, growing up in Fallsburg. She was the first Sports Physical Therapy Resident at the University of Kentucky, completing her residency in 2018. She is now a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy as accredited by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Her areas of interest include sports related injuries, injury prevention training, orthopedic conditions and post-operative conditions. She is trained and certified in concussion management therapy for post concussions which are very common in football, soccer, and baseball.
Morgan and her husband, Dr. Marc Lester DMD, are very excited to be back in their hometown helping to provide healthcare to a historically underserved area. Dr. Lester is in the process of opening a new outpatient orthopedic/sports physical therapy clinic in downtown Louisa. Eastern Kentucky Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapy PSC will be a brand new business located at 205 East Main Street in Louisa and hopes to open in September.
