WHO WILL REPLACE LENNIE COLLINS AS TRUSTEE ON LIBRARY BOARD?

The Lawrence County Public Library had a Regular Scheduled Board Meeting on Monday February 10, 2025 at the Lawrence County Public Library, 103 W Main Street, Louisa, Kentucky 41230 at 12PM.

Director Deena Farris was in attendance along with the Lawrence County Public Library Board of Trustees including Lindsay Smith, Susie Chambers, Lynn Perry and Kim Burchett.

LENNIE COLLINS RESIGNED
Lennie Collins resigned from the Lawrence County Public Library as Trustee last week. Collins had been President of the board so now the library will be looking for a new trustee to fill Collins’ spot and a new president. Susie Chambers is currently Secretary and Kim Burchett is Treasurer. Collins served less than six months.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes include January 15 and January 30 2025 Meetings. The Minutes were approved with a Motion from Kim Burchett and a second by Lynn Perry. None Opposed. They can be seen on the library’s website.

STAFF RESTRUCTURING PLAN
Director Farris discussed the employees of the library and titles and pay which may soon change, Farris said at the meeting. Farris had a rough draft at today’s meeting agenda and with trustees input will have a final draft at next month’s meeting, she said. The employees all received a 4% cost of living raise four months ago.

Farris said the pay for all employees will depend on experience, seniority and education. She also said there will be no new hires or staff reductions.

2. Approval of January 15, 2025 and January 30, 2025 meeting minutes – Motion by Kim Burchett 2nd by Lynn Perry. None Opposed
3. Board Update – Director Farris discussed the Board Update with the Board of Trustees.
4. Staff Restructuring Plan – Director Deena Farris discussed the library employees title and pay with the Board of Trustees. At next month’s meeting Director Farris will have the final draft.
5. Public Comments – None
6. Adjourn – Motion by Susie Chambers 2nd by Kim Burchett.
