Thursday January 30, 2020 the Louisa Rotary Club held its weekly meeting at the First Baptist Church at 301 Pike Street, in Louisa, KY. The meeting started out with prayer, led by Tommy Thompson, then all members said the “Pledge of Allegiance” and the “Four Way Test”.
Rotary President Elaine DeSario started out by welcoming all members and special guest speaker Dr. Norman Edwards. They also welcomed special guest Matt Day.
An award, ‘The Paul Harris Fellow’ was presented by member Patton R. Hart from the Rotary Club, to member Catrina L. Vargo who has been an outstanding member and very active in the club. Congratulations Catrina!
Members all wished member Mary B. McGuire Happy Birthday who celebrated her 80th birthday on Tuesday January 28, 2020. She stated that she was proud to blessed by God, and was thankful for her life. She is a very sweet lady!
They discussed that Northeast Kentucky Small Business Awards Breakfast will be on May 7, 2020 from 8-10 a.m. at the Boyd County Community Center (15605 KY-180 Catlettsburg, KY 41129. The Rotary club did a big shout out to the schools girls and boys basketball teams and the Academic teams as well. They said there will be no school on Friday due to illnesses but it will be an N. T. I. Day.
They sent prayers to all students and parents who are and have been sick!
Dr. Norman Edwards will be having a Church History Course (BC and AD) for anyone interested to attend. It will be in February and March on Mondays 6:30-8:30 p.m. at 480 Bredarr Heights ( across from Big Blue Auto-RT. 2565. History book will be given to each attendee.
