Louisa, Ky. — The Lawrence Co. Girls ( 9-9 ) bounced back with 64-42 win over Pike Co. Central ( 8-11 ) on Monday night.

#41 Jada Patton goes up strong for two points against Floyd Central. 

 

Sophie Adkins led the Bulldogs with 26 points, Jada Patton added 21 points, Abby Maynard and Maddison Artrip scored 7 points each and Gracie Woods chipped in with 3 points. 

Lawrence Co. hit 4 three pointers and went 6 for 9 from the free throw line. 

Floyd Central 52 Lawrence Co. 46 ( Friday ) 

The Dawgs fell behind early and couldn’t mount the comeback. 

Lawrence Co. is now 4-1 in District play with one game remaining. 

Jada Patton led the Bulldogs with 19 points, Sophie Adkins tallied 13 points, Abby Maynard netted 4 points, Maddison Artrip, Caroline See and Gracie Woods had 3 points each, Emalynn Kitts chipped in with 1 point. 

#5 Abby Maynard steps up to the free throw line as #22 Caroline See and #3 Sophie Adkins look on. 

Lawrence Co. hit 3 three pointers and went 17 of 25 from the free throw line. 

The Lady Dawgs will return to action on Thursday with a trip to Huntington St. Joe before hosting Betsy Layne at 6:00 Saturday evening.

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… Against Floyd Central on Friday we didn’t play well at all. We had way too many turnovers. We struggled and really only played the way we can for one quarter. We have to put a full game together and that’s been my message this week.”

“… Against Pike Central we were able to put more meaningful minutes together. We played with more energy and sense of urgency. We have to continue that moving forward.”
