Potters Place in Louisa, Ky. is our new business feature this week. They have 2 stores, one here in Louisa at 2936 Hwy. 2565 (between KFC & Stella Moore baseball fields) and one in Ashland at 1700 29th St. Ashland Ky.
DEREK & SHEENA POTTER
Sheena and Derek Potter from Louisa, opened their first store in Ashland in 2021 and were able to relocate to their new location in 2022. Their Louisa store opened in December 2023. They started from their house by setting up yard sales to running two successful businesses. You can still find them setting up at the US 23 Yard Sale annually.
The Potter’s have two daughters, Laila Dolen and Lyla Potter. Laiala is an 8th grader at LMS and part of the LMS cheer and softball team. Lyla is an 8th grader at Boyd County Middle School.
Sheena also works for Realty One.
This is a family affair and the Potters would like to thank their family including grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins for always helping and their continued support. They would like to extend a special thank you to Derek’s parents and Sheena’s mom for all the hours the help and support put into running a small business.
When they first opened Sheena’s cousin Shanna and Derek’s niece Megan were working for them for the first few years and thru the opening of the Louisa Store. Megan still fills in from time to time.
The Potters said “Our customers always show up for us and we truly have the best customer base. I say it all the time because we wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for our customers.”
At Potters Place you find a variety of everything you need from household laundry items, healthcare products, auto supplies to your pet’s needs. There is so much more please see our slideshow for their inventory. You can also find their store online. The link is here for you to view.
