Fort Gay, W. Va. — Even though the Tolsia Baseball Team didn’t win as many games as past years the Rebels have built a nice little program under Head Coach Jeff Wallace and that was evident with three players making All State in 2019 including standout Eric Williams who recently signed with Alice Lloyd making second team.
Williams was named second team after having a monster year even though he was pitched around constantly by other teams. He hit .405 with 5 homers, 6 doubles, drove in 25 with a on base percentage of .623
Versatile Senior to be Carson Stuart made Honorable Mention after hitting .349 with 2 doubles and drove in 29 runs.
Coach Jeff Wallace on Stuart:
“ He played every position for us except catcher. He got the lone hit off Lenny Washington in the sectional game against St Joe. This coming right behind Washington pitching a perfect game against Fairland who won their Sectionals in Ohio and advanced to the district semifinals. Washington was named captain of the all state first team.”

“… Actually with our record most kids get overlooked but we played a much harder schedule evident with Huntington High 3 times who when we played them was ranked 9th in AAA. We played Scott who made it to the state tournament in AA. We played Nitro who was number 6 in AA just for example.”
“… We have 2 kids to sign to play college baseball with Eric and Austin which should mean things are headed in the right direction or so it would seem.”
