Gypsy Elaine Christian (Austin) 84 of Fallsburg, KY, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 10, 2024. She passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family.

Gypsy dedicated her life as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She loved being surrounded by her family and treated all those who visited her home as family as well. She showed those she loved great care through her delicious home-cooked meals, her hand-made gifts such as quilts, embroidered items and other sewn gifts. She enjoyed time outside around her flower garden where she would be sure to keep food for the hummingbirds.

Gypsy’s love and devotion will be sorely missed by her loved ones. Her kind heart and giving nature made such an impression on those who were lucky enough to know her. Her family cherishes the time spent with her. She was always happy to share stories, recipes and motherly anecdotes. She loved to reminisce while looking at photos, going through trinkets and listening to music. She also enjoyed a good game of Flinch or Chinese checkers. But most of all she loved being surrounded by her family. Family gatherings will never be the same.

Gypsy is preceded in death by her parents, John and Gusta (Lambert) Austin, her daughter, Susan Mowery, son-in-law Kevin Maynard, granddaughter, Summer Mullins, brother, Calvin (Ann) Austin, sisters Juanita Wheeler, Elberta (John) Mathews, and Marie Crawford.

She leaves behind her husband of 54 years, Clyde Ray Christian, brother Clifford (Janet) Austin, brother-in-law Gary Crawford.  6 daughters: Deborah (Ken) Cohen (Church), Ginger Groce (Church), Denease Mullins, Christy Maynard (Christian), Alice (Edward) Perry (Christian), April (Mickey) Davis (Christian); 21 grandchildren, 3 of which she raised as her own Jennifer Stella (Smith), Brandy Mowery, Jason Mowery and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in the Christian Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 11:00 AM until time of service in the Young Funeral Home Chapel.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Christian and her family.
