REPEAT OFFENDER: BRANDON LEE FASNACHT, 26, OF LOUISA, KENTUCKY; WAS ARRESTED MONDAY EVENING, OCTOBER 14 IN FORT GAY, WEST VIRGINIA ON DRUG AND GUN POSSESSION CHARGES BY WAYNE COUNTY DEPUTIES AFTER A POLICE TRAFFIC STOP.

A traffic stop Monday evening, October 14, in the Fort Gay area of Wayne County, West Virginia led to the arrest of a suspect on drug and weapons charges, according to a press release announcement  from Wayne County Sheriff Rick Thompson.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Unit had been patrolling the area when they decided to pull over a car. The driver, who was Brandon Lee Fasnacht, 26, of Louisa, Kentucky; a man they knew of who had a criminal history.

According to Sheriff Rick Thompson, when deputies approached the vehicle, Brandon Fasnacht attempted to conceal a bag of meth by shoving it down his pants.

However, the meth was not the only surprise Brandon Fasnacht had in store for the deputies; as they found a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun with an extended magazine tucked under the driver’s seat. Deputies also discovered a stash of marijuana in his pocket.

This was not Brandon Fasnacht’s first brush with law enforcement, as he is currently on parole after a 2021 incident that saw him fleeing Kentucky police into West Virginia on a crotch rocket motorcycle. That chase ended when officers boxed him in on a dead-end street after a pursuit.

At only 26 years old, Brandon Fasnacht has been arrested at least 12 times since March 2019, 9 of which were in Lawrence County, on around 25 felonies, misdemeanors, and motor traffic offenses.

For his latest arrest this time around, Brandon Fasnacht faces the new charges of: *Being a Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm, *Carrying a Concealed Weapon, *Possession of Marijuana, and *Possession With Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.

Brandon Fasnacht was transported, booked and lodged at the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville, in Cabell County, W.VA., and was given a $20,000 bond. But be it as it is, Brandon Fasnacht was able to post his bond and he was released from the Western Regional Jail on Tuesday.
