Lawrence Grand Jury hands down 22 indictments
LOUISA, KY. — As the months drag along as well as the Methamphetamine epidemic, charges that the Lawrence County Grand Jury faces become worse. After a month off the Lawrence County Grand Jury met bringing back a whopping 22 Indictments.
Most charges remain somehow meth related, yet some new faces were added this month.
Here are the indictments:
Johnny Moore, 54 of Hwy.32, Louisa, KY. Indicited on Sexual Abuse of a Minor, Class C Felony with a penalty of 5-10 years.
The defendant is charged by the Grand Jury stating that on or before Aug. 2017 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully subjected another person namely, M.J. to sexual contact who is incapable of consent because M.J., the victim, was under 12 years of age.
Bail is set for $10,000.
Frank Spears, 34 of Big Fork, Louisa, Ky. Indicted on Trafficking In a Controlled Substance, 1st degree/Complicity > than 2 grams, a class C felony.
The defendant acting alone or in complicity with Christopher Ratliff knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance with the intent to traffic that substance or trafficking in a controlled substance, namely .50 grams of Methamphetamine along with scales or baggies.
Todd Coverdale, 52 of Daisy Ln. Louisa, Ky. Indicted on Assault, 2nd Degree, a class C felony (5-10 years) and Menacing, a misdeamor.
The defendant is charged by the grand jury for assault for knowingly and unlawfully causing physical harm to Cameron Jude by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument. The defendant was also charged with menacing for placing another person in reasonable apprehension of imminent physical injury. Bail set for $10,000.
Christopher Ratliff, 37 of West Powhatten, Louisa, Ky. Indicted on Trafficking In a Controlled Substance, 1st degree/Complicity > than 2 grams, a class C felony.
The defendant acting alone or in complicity with Frank Spears knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance with the intent to traffic that substance or trafficking in a controlled substance, namely .50 grams of Methamphetamine along with scales or baggies.
James R. Isaac, 56 of Hwy. 32 Louisa, Ky. Indicted on Operating A Motor Vehicle Under The Influence of Alcohol/drugs 4th or greater offense within 10 years, class D felony, Operating on Suspended License, misdemeanor, Operating ATV on Roadway, Violation and Possession of Open Container In Motor Vehicle, a violation.
The Grand Jury charges that on or before June 7th, 2018 the defendant operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of Alcohol or other substances that impair a driver’s ability to operate that motor vehicle, while having 3 previous convictions. The defendant knowingly and unlawfully operated a motor vehicle while his license was suspended or revoked. The defendant knowingly and unlawfully operating an all-terrain vehicle on the roadway of KY while in possession of an open container.
Mark Mollett, 42 of Blevins Loop, Tomahawk, KY. Indicted on Possession Of Controlled Substance, 1st degree/Complicity, Conspiracy To Trafficking In A Controlled Substance In The 2nd degree/Complicity and Possession of Marijuana.
The Grand Jury charges that on or before May 12th, 2018 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully acting alone or in complicity with Brandi Fannin possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine. The defendant knowingly and unlawfully engaged in a criminal conspiracy with Brandi Fannin to traffic a controlled substance in the second degree, namely soboxone, neurontin and or diazepam. The defendant knowingly and unlawfully possessed marijuana.
Brandi Fannin, 36 of Tomahawk, Ky. Indicted on Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st degree/Complicity, Conspiracy To Trafficking In a Controlled Substance, 2nd degree/Complicity, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd degree.
Grand Jury charges that on or before May 12th, 2018 the defendant acting alone or in complicity with Mark Mollett knowingly and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance, methamphetamine. The defendant knowingly and unlawfully engaging in a criminal conspiracy with Mark Mollett to traffic Suboxone, Neurontin and or Diazepam. Fannin knowingly and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance, namely Suboxone, Neurontin and or Diazepam. The defendant committed the offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking under $500 by taking clothing from Walmart of Louisa.
Michael Pennington, 32 of Grayson, Ky. Indicted on Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st degree a class D felony and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The Grand Jury charges that on or before April 24th 2018 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance, methamphetamine. The defendant knowingly and unlawfully possessed syringes and baggies.
Melvin Harmon, 28 of Louisa, KY. Indicted on Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st degree (a class D felony), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The Grand Jury charges that on or before Feb.27, 2018 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance, methamphetamine and a straw used in the ingestion of the controlled substance.
April Harper, 34 of Louisa, KY. Indicted on Trafficking In A Controlled Substance, 1st degree/Complicity (class D felony) and Possession or use of Drug Paraphernalia.
The Grand Jury charges that on or before May 16th, 2018 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully acting alone or in complicity with Shannon Jude Possessed a controlled substance with the intent to traffic that controlled substance or by trafficking in a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine. The defendant was also in possession of baggies, spoons, syringes and a scale.
Shannon Jude, 42 of Louisa, KY. Indicted on Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st degree/Complicity (class C felony)Possession or Use of Drug Paraphernalia/Complicity, Possession of Marijuana and Persisitent Felony Offender, 1st degree
Jude, acting alone or in complicity with April Harper knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance with the intent to traffic in that controlled substance or by trafficking in that controlled substance, namely methamphetamine. The defendants were in possession of drug paraphernalia such as baggies, scales, spoons and a syringe. The defendant possessed marijuana and because he has been convicted of a prior felony, is now charged with Persistent Felony Offender.
Michael McMillian, 26 of Mingo, WV. Was indicted on Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st degree and Receiving Stolen Property Under $10,000.
The defendant knowingly and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance, methamphetamine and was in possession of a 1997 Toyota Camry motor vehicle that was stolen from Samuel Hamilton of Pikeville.
Kaitlyn Riner, 24 of Ft. G Indicted on Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st degree/Complicity, Use/Possession of Drug Parahernalia/Complicity
The Grand Jury charges that on or before May 31st, 2018 the defendant acting alone or in complicity with Robert Cyrus knowingly and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance, methamphetamine and Possessed a soda can used for ingestion or storing of controlled substance.
Robert Cyrus, 33 of Fort Gay, WV. Indicted on Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st degree/Complicity, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia/Complicity and Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
The Grand Jury charges that on or before May 31,2018 the defendant acting alone or in complicity with Kaitlyn Riner, possessed a controlled substance, methamphetamine, a soda can used for injestion or storing of controlled substance . The defendant was driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
Robert Sparks, Jr. of Kermit, WV., 31 of Kermit, WV. Indicted on Theft By Unlawful Taking Under $10,000.
The Grand Jury charges that from Jan. 9th, 2018 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully taking 5 cellphones, a Netgear Router, a Roku stick, a Crosman Air Pistol, a portable USB charger, a knife and other merchandise from Walmart of Louisa with a total of the items exceeding $550.
Richard Bowens, 28 of Louisa was Indicted on Burglary, 3rd degree and Persistent Felony Offender, 1st degree.
The Grand Jury charges that on or about May 20th 2018 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully entered and remained in a dwelling owned by Donna George of 65 East Clayton, Louisa with the intent to commit the crime of theft therein. The defendant has previously been convicted of a felony, therefore he has been charged with Persistent Felony Offender.
William Cantrell, 34 of Louisa, KY. Indicted on Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the first degree (class C felony) Tampering With Physical Evidence, Possession/Use of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, Persistent Felony Offender.
The Grand Jury charges that on or before June 29th, 2018 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully possessed 2.40 grams of Methamphetamine, $827.00 in cash, baggies and scales with the intent to traffic in that controlled substance or by trafficking in that controlled substance. The defendant unlawfully destroyed, concealed or altered physical evidence that he believed would be used against him in an official proceeding. Cantrell possessed 2 syringes and an altered tube and spoon containing chemical residue, and marijuana. The defendant having been charged with convicted of previous felonies has no been charged with Persistent Felony Offender.
William J. McCoy, 46 of Louisa has been indicted on Receiving Stolen Property (class D felony)Possession Of a Controlled Substance and Persistent Felony Offender, 1st degree.
The Grand Jury charges that on or before June 13th in 2018, the defendant knowingly and unlawfully possessed a Honda TRX ATV with a value of $1500 stolen from Derek Dotson of Louisa, he possessed a controlled substance, methamphetamine and having been charged with previous felonies, the defendant is charged with Persistent Felony Offender.
Geneva C. Lemaster, 42 of Jeffersonville, IN. Indicted on Theft of Identity, class D felony, Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st degree, Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operating on Suspended, Failure of Non Owner Operator To Maintain Required Insurance 1st
The Grand Jury charges knowingly and unlawfully possessed or used any former or current identifying information of another, namely one Angela D. Childers along with biometric information such as date of birth and social security number, with the intent to represent themselves as the other person. The defendant knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and an altered pipe. The defendant was operating on a suspended or revoked license was suspended or revoked, along with no proof of insurance.
Jayson Ratliff, 45 of Louisa Indicted on Wanton Endangerment, 1st degree and Criminal Mischief 1st degree.
The Grand Jury charges that on or before June 9th 2018 the defendant engaged in conduct which created a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to his father, Mr. Rodney Ratliff of Louisa.
Jacob Wright, 19 of Elizabeth, KY. Indicted on Theft By Unlawful Taking (firearm) (2counts)
The Grand Jury charges that on June, 18th 2018 the defendant knowingly and unlawfully taking two Hi point Brand 9mm caliber handguns from Dorothy Vaughn of Louisa.
Jacob Fields-Wright, 19, of Elizabeth, KY. Indicted on Theft By Unlawful Taking over $500 Auto.
The Grand Jury charges that the defendant knowingly and unlawfully took a 2005 Ford Taurus owned by Susan Moore of Louisa with a value of $3,050.00
