On Wednesday, July 11th, the Louisa-headquartered treatment organization, Addiction Recovery Care (ARC), held it’s monthly convocation at Boone’s Landing in Yatesville Lake State Park.
ARC brings nearly 600 people together every month (300 employees and ~250 clients) to celebrate employee of the month awards, recovery successes, client graduations, and people who have went from crisis to career. With 150 of it’s 300 employees being in recovery from substance use disorder, ARC is one of the largest second-chance employers in all of Appalachia.
ARC began as a grassroots ministry in late 2010 as it opened Karen’s Place. Today it has grown into a holistic treatment organization that focuses on treating the whole person – mind, body, soul, and purpose. ARC now owns and operates a network comprised of thirteen residential facilities and six outpatient counseling centers.
Tim Robinson, CEO and Founder of ARC, said, “There is no silver bullet for this epidemic that we face as a society, but we have seen staggering amounts of success by treating people with dignity and respect, stabilizing their medical and clinical health, introducing them to the basics of spirituality, and creating a platform where they can discover their purpose and destiny.”
Wednesday’s event at Boone’s Landing focused on celebrating ARC’s re-accreditation from the internationally recognized Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). ARC received CARF’s highest stamp of approval – a three year re-accreditation.
Matt Brown, ARC graduate and Chief of Staff to the CEO, says “Addiction is losing in Louisa, KY. I can’t go anywhere in our wonderful city and not run into someone who is beating addiction and living a happy life in recovery. When I was in active addiction a little over four years ago, no one knew how to get help for their addiction or how to find treatment. Today help and hope are just a phone call away.”
Viewed as a state leader in comprehensive addiction treatment, ARC has a footprint that spans fourteen Kentucky counties.
