COACH’S COMMENTS
“… Thursday night was a very tough night for Lawrence County Softball. We lost a great man with the death of Kenny Shapaka early in the week. It was encouraging to see His daughter Brittany play to honor her dad. The Shapaka family has been a part of the LC softball program for many years. Kenny was always such a vital part of the softball family. He will be greatly missed. It was nice to be able to honor Kenny before the game. Each player handed Melissa a rose and a prayer for the family was awesome. The girls broke down the team huddle by saying “Kenny”. We will also honor Kenny’s life with a sticker that will be placed on every player’s helmet. We love the Shapaka family and we look forward to being there for them. May “God” bless them.”
